- Please don’t select a survey-based article to present.
- The article should not be review article but only research article.
B. How to inform me about the article you choose
- You will go to google forms and will write your name and select you section. Later you will edit your response and will write title of the article you will chose to present. I will make class formation from the filled form.
https://forms.gle/TjBv3XkQLa2Nov3Z7
C. Material to submit before and after the presentation
- All students will submit me the page containing the title and two questions for every presentation.
- Presenter will submit summary of the article (2 sets)
- containing these headings (as shown in D).
D. General Question to be asked during presentation?
1) Pathway or importance of protein/technology/discovery/drug
2) Rationale/Novelty

E. General instructions for presenter and listeners (The same will be written assignment)
- The presentation must be around 15 min long with 5 minutes for question and answer session.
- You must make ppt files from the choosen research article (plus material from internet if you want).
- You must not miss any figure from the research article.
- There must be ~15-20 slides in ppt file.
- One slide usually takes 1 to 2 min.
- CR/GR must collect and submit all ppt files directly to me by USB.
- During listening, every student must write two questions to be asked.
- If you feel any problem or problem managing work among members, you can consult me.
F. Marks distribution
- Assignment material and PPT, Presentation skills, Question answer (5×2 = 10 marks)
- Attendance (5 marks)
- Attitude during questions and answers (5 marks)
- The students who don’t present at their designated time, their presentation marks will be skipped or they will get low score.
G. What I will teach you?
- I have taught you how to read a research article.
- I have taught you the anatomy of research articles.
H. Template for ppt
Download the template ppt file to make your presentation. The link is here (copy this link and paste in a new tab).
Strictly follow the ppt format and it is better if you write and paste your material in the same ppt file.
I. Presentation set up
- we may take extra classes to complete presentations.
- If by chance all students could not deliver presentations ….
- Then remaining students will record their presentation [slide + voice merged] (less than 25 min long)… And will send me 10 days before the final exam. We can take practical class or any extra class during the week, therefor come on Monday with prepared presentation.
- So no chance of escape..therefore, start preparing your ppts.
If any of you feel any problem in 720 or 703.. first discuss it with your 2 or 3 fellows one by one.. if they don’t help you then ask me.. then I will guide you….
The students who don’t present at their designated time, their presentation marks will be skipped or they will get a low score…
I. How to find the impact factor of a journal?
Write the name of the journal and the word “impact factor” in google.com… you can easily see the impact factor. Or download below given excel list impact factor and check.
J. How to make a general understanding of the research article?
- After reading the abstract and intro…
- Understand every figure by reading the caption and then by reading text (in results) about the same figures.
- Then read the full article.
- Better memorize the discussion…
- Reading the article may take 5 days…
Moreover, provide me printed one or two page summary of your article containing above headings.
L. During Presentations, for EVERY FIGURE and graph, we may ask:
1. The Principle of the experiment.
2. The Reason for doing the experiment.
3. The Physiological importance of the figure.
4. The Conclusions of the figures.
5. Prepare well, objectively and subjectively.
How to search and download an article:
First of all go to google.com and search journal of your interest. Then go to current issue or any issue not older than 2018. Select article and click download. If journal is paid then do as follows:
http://gen.lib.rus.ec/ open page-click other- click scientific article- then search. It contains all articles that are not even available in Yonsei library site.
https://sci-hub.cc/ you can download almost all articles from this site.
